What is Orchard Growth Partners?

Orchard Growth Partners is a business growth consultancy firm providing Finance Director services to growth businesses.

What sort of companies do you work with?

Many of our clients are SMEs ie growth companies with revenues from £1m to £25m. However, we also work with large clients especially those undergoing change and business growth pains which need interim finance director services. We also provide financial director services to well-funded start-up businesses.

Are you an interim agency?

No. All of our Principals are members of the Orchard network and work with clients on an on-going basis. Our client work is generally on a part-time basis although we do undertake full-time projects for clients too.

Are you an accountancy firm?

No. Our FDs work as insiders with clients providing close support, both financial and business support, to Chief Executives and management teams. Infact we often work with our client’s accountancy firms as appropriate and we add value by making the client/accountancy firm relationship more efficient. We also have relationships with accountancy firms to help meet client needs as required.

Does Orchard work with advisors?

Yes. Orchard works closely with Accountancy Firms, Banks and Lawyers, providing complementary and value-adding services for both the end client and the advisor.

How many clients does a principal usually have?

Each principal will have a small number of growth business clients with whom they have a close relationship and a good understanding of the business. Often this is somewhere between three and five clients.

Is Orchard a national organisation?

Yes, we have clients across the UK.

So your people are stand-alone consultants?

No. Orchard Growth Partners works as a single entity in which each Principal has the support of a national organisation and meets the high standards expected of a member of the Orchard network.

Who are your Principals?

Our Principals have extensive experience working with high growth companies at Finance Director level. They are personable, commercial Finance Directors with broad business experience.

What’s this pro-bono programme?

The Orchard Blossom pro bono programme is about using the skills of our Principals to help start-up businesses to establish themselves. Under the programme, recent start-ups can apply for the finance director services of a Principal for up to 40 hours of services without fees!

Our Principals have been involved in early stage businesses and are familiar with the common challenges they face, such as preparing a sound business plan, dealing with the administrative matters of setting up a business, preparing forecasts, and raising finance.

Why do you have a pro-bono program?

It fits in with the values of Orchard and we enjoy the work! It gives us a different client experience as these are the sorts of clients who because of their stage of business growth couldn’t afford access to people of the calibre of our Principals.
