Harby has extensive experience in Telecommunications and for the past five years, has been helping companies launch their products & services into China and India.
He has assisted with market entry, tax structures, corporate finance, corporate governance and project management (Asia inbound and outbound). He is a Non-executive Director of Chinese AIM listed company LED and also launched ChIndia performs – an annual dinner dance for Chinese and Indian diasporas in the UK.
He is a fellow of The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and was elected to Council in June 2009. In addition, Harby hold’s the honorary position as President for CIMA’s West Surrey branch supporting over 4000 members.
His career began with accounting firms MacIntyre Hudson and Wingrave Yeats before moving on as Finance Manager for a Commodity Brokers. Afterwards, he spent 11 years with Cable & Wireless Global, managing a finance function and thereafter working in a series of senior management roles across Europe, including supplier contract negotiation, business development, sales & marketing and project finance. He set up his own consulting practice in 2002 and worked on a range of projects in the UK including Telecoms, Interim Finance Director roles, IT and Recruitment.
In his voluntary roles, he has supported the Institute of Director’s China Interest Group develop an agenda to grow its membership. He also acts as Chairman of a UK Charity “Now I Eat” (registered number 1129938) which helps underprivileged children in China and India.
In his leisure time Harby plays golf, badminton and enjoys cycling.
