Harvey Mitchell - Principal

Harvey trained in commerce whilst working for large FTSE quoted multinationals, initially in management accounting and system accounting roles, culminating in being Chief Accountant for the technology division Thorn Software and heading up a team of 35 at 27 years old.

He has over twenty years experience working in financial and general management for both US and UK companies both domestically and internationally, in small venture capital backed scenarios and Fortune 500 quoted groups. More recently he jointly lead the management buy out of the UK subsidiary of a California based software company, through its rapid domestic growth to its successful sale.

Since joining Orchard in 2006 he has continued to build and apply his experience for a variety of clients both domestically and internationally. He has helped those clients strategically and practically from raising finance through banks and VC's and ensuring Research and Development Tax claims are made, to helping them realign their businesses to a more focused commercial objective, as well as ensuring the more mundane requirements such as the annual audit run as a flat line not a mountain chain.  

Harvey is experienced both financially and operationally having consistently headed up Finance, Operations, HR, IT, Systems, Legal, Facilities and Risk Management during this time in countries as far apart as Australia and Sweden and as diverse as France and Germany. Commercially astute and equally at home stretching the cash flow, crunching the numbers or driving the strategy. Able, experienced and qualified to fully support the Chief Executive realise the vision.

Harvey is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants and has an MBA from Surrey European Management School at the University of Surrey. He is a keen gardener and committed soccer enthusiast, with any spare time spent tinkering with classic cars.
