Mark Widnall - Principal

Mark is a qualified chartered accountant with strong commercial experience gained over 12 years in the financial recruitment, commercial property and insurance sectors.Following training with Ernst & Young in London Mark gained a grounding in financial control, treasury, team management and financial, regulatory and management reporting with a US owned, Lloyd’s insurance broker. The acquisition of another London broker gave Mark responsibility for the integration of finance teams, processes and reporting systems.

A move to a City based commercial property consultancy brought involvement in the senior management team, responsibility for the implementation of front-to-back-office systems, company secretarial responsibilities and involvement in the running of a Business Centre.

However the main focus of Mark’s career has been in the recruitment sector, including 12 months as acting managing director of the UK subsidiary of a Swedish listed group. During his time there Mark managed all financial aspects of the sale of a UK company, developed a tax efficient structure for the deal and managed an EMI share option scheme. He designed and implemented remuneration structures and was responsible for strategic planning, development and control. Day-to-day responsibility for the back-office included management of the finance, payroll, HR and IT functions.
